Conn. Man Charged With Phoning Bomb Threat To Amusement Park - WNBC
A Naugatuck man faces felony charges for allegedly reporting to police that a bomb would explode Thursday at Quassy Amusement Park, police said. Brian R. Collins, 21, of Naugatuck is accused of using a prepaid phone to call in the hoax to state police. The caller said an ammonium nitrate bomb would detonate at the Middlebury amusement park in five minutes, police said.

Quassy Releases Post Card Series
As one of 11 remaining trolley parks in the nation, Quassy Amusement Park is rich in history and tradition. Quassy has announced the release of a first of a series of collector's postcards as the park continues its countdown to 100 years of operation in 2008. The five postcards are reminiscent of the many small amusement parks that once operated in the nation, of which only a handful remain. Four of the cards feature historic photos, some of which date back to the 1920s.

Man donates amusement park tickets to Red Cross - Middletown Press
Brenda Simmons, Middlesex County Executive Director for the Red Cross, was all smiles on Friday she realized that Mal Chapman had handed her a way to make 200 people's days a little brighter. Chapman is the owner of Phoenix Barge, the company that was hired by Quassy Amusement Park to build two barges, which are used in the annual 3-D fireworks display and benefit on July 4. According to Chapman, Quassy still owed him money, but instead of money, Chapman was given tickets to the amusement park in the sum of the money he was owed. "He gave them to local kids in the area who could not afford to go to the park," Ron Gustafson, Public Relations Director at Quassy Park said. Quassy Park is the only family -owned park in the state and has been since 1937. He said that Chapman's gesture was "small business helping small business."

Quassy Park installs waterslides for 2006
Quassy Amusement Park in Connecticut has turned to ProSlide Technology to expand their "Saturation Station" family water area. The dual waterslides, named Tunnel Twister, will debut in late spring.
