No mechanical problems were found with a Dixie Landin’ amusement park ride that a boy fell from Friday, a representative with Office of the State Fire Marshal said Wednesday. Emergency brakes, seat belts, lap belts and the ride’s speed have been checked and do not have any problems, said Bill Owens, manager of mechanical safety for the Fire Marshal’s Office, which is responsible for inspecting amusement park rides statewide.

Teen heartthrob Ryan Cabrera will entertain thousands at 7 p.m. Saturday at Dixie Landin’ Family Theme Park. Cabrera’s PG-rated show will include songs from his latest album, “You Stand Watching,” released through Atlantic Records in September. The Dallas pop singer/songwriter’s albums have reached platinum status, thanks to a demographic of mostly preteen girls.
