Seabreeze gets approval for new waterslideConnoisseurs of the inner tube will have a new water slide to try at Seabreeze Park this summer.
The Irondequoit amusement park's owners are upgrading the Raging Rivers Waterpark with a new twisting and turning slide dubbed "Helix" and renovating the Banzai Pipeline water slide in an attempt to beef up appeal to out-of-town tourists.
They will also install a new water purification system to comply with new state water cleanliness regulations, which came in response to an outbreak of waterborne parasites at spray parks last summer.

Firms receive tax breaks for expansions, purchasesTax breaks for five projects, including a $220,000 upgrade to the water park at Seabreeze Amusement Park, were approved Tuesday by the County of Monroe Industrial Development Agency.
Seabreeze employs 20 full time and 700 seasonally. Park owner George W. Long Inc. is adding a waterslide and a new tubing area this year, and will renovate the Bonsai Speedslide and install a new water purification system.

Representatives of the Irondequoit facility will seek sales-tax exemptions for the work—which includes renovating the Bonsai Speedslide and a new water purification system—from the County of Monroe Industrial Development Agency at the agency’s monthly meeting on Tuesday.
