Another Ocean City amusement park is asking for tax relief.

Buddy Jenkins, owner of Jolly Roger Amusement Park, appeared before the Worcester County Commissioners on Tuesday to ask for their help.

He wants the commissioners to draft a letter to Delegate Jim Mathias, asking Annapolis for tax relief legislation.

Jenkins says he's facing a 40 percent increase in his property taxes. He says his business is important to the county because it attracts visitors with disposable incomes.

The commissioners said they would have an answer for Jenkins soon.

Another local amusement company, Trimper Amusements & Rides, has been seeking state legislation making its boardwalk property a Historic Amusement Tax District, which would freeze tax bills at 2004 levels.
