A bankruptcy judge has ruled that a California amusement park operator has until September 28th to purchase the now-bankrupt Wild West World.

If that doesn't happen, the judge warns that the western theme park will be liquidated.

Parks America offered $12 million in an August letter of intent and company officials believe they can reach an agreement by the deadline.

The $30 million theme park opened to the public in the Wichita suburb of Park City on May 5th and closed in July. The company is $24 million in debt and has hundreds of unpaid creditors.

If a deal can't be worked out, the park's assets will be liquidated starting with the rides, then the metal buildings and the real estate.
