Some new changes in security at Six Flags Over Georgia have been put in place to keep the public safer while at the amusement park.

The park, only open on weekends now that school is in session, has made big changes. But officials said the changes will help visitors stay safe.

Additional lighting has been added outside the park as well as extra surveillance cameras, a larger covered bus stop and increased police patrols.

It was almost 2 months ago that Joshua Martin, 19, was attacked and severely beaten by a dozen other teens. Martin continues to recover.

The $125,000 cost of the safety upgrade is being split by Six Flags and Cobb County.
