It’s time for August Nationality Days at Kennywood Amusement Park

West Mifflin, PA - Kennywood continues a time-honored tradition: Nationality Days!

For nearly a century groups have celebrated their ethnic heritage at the popular Western Pennsylvania amusement park. Dates are as follows. (Note: First year of picnic follows in parenthesis).

Wednesday, August 1 - Hungarian Day (1926)

Hungarians appreciate their favorite Hungarian fare in Pavilion 4, special programs in Pavilion 5 at 7 PM, and spirited dancing from 8:30 - 10:30 PM in Pavilion 1.

Tuesday, August 7 - Polish Day (1931)

This year is the 76th annual Polish Day! The Polish Kitchen (beginning @ Noon in Pavilion 4) is always a favorite, complete with strolling musicians. The Polish Program from 3 PM – 6 PM includes the crowning of Miss Polonia, the Polonian of the Year Award, Mass, and entertainment with dance groups Karuzela and Lajkoniki. Following the program Ray Jay and the Carousels provide toe-tapping Polka Music from 7 to 9:30 PM.

Friday, August 24 - Scottish Day (2004)

Scottish Day 2007 will enjoy lots of special entertainment, including Bagpipers, fiddlers, traditional entertainment and dancers. Festivities will be located in Pavilion 5.

Sunday, August 26 - Jewish Community Day (2003)

This fifth annual gathering will offer Kosher Food in Pavilion 4 from Noon – 7 PM.
