The historic Starliner roller coaster will not open Saturday as planned at Cypress Gardens Adventure Park, park officials say.

The coaster is near completion, but an unforeseen delay related to the installation of the ride's computer system has delayed the debut.

The Starliner first opened at the Miracle Strip Amusement Park in Panama City Beach in 1963. The park closed in 2004, and Cypress Gardens purchased the historic coaster.

Crews have been reassembling the ride at Cypress Gardens, in Winter Haven. The Starliner will be the park's sixth and largest roller coaster.

Cypress Gardens did not announce a new opening date.
