For more than a century, folks in Arnolds Park, Iowa have entertained crowds at their hometown amusement park. As they get ready to open their door for the 118th season, some attractions are getting a new look.

When Arnolds Park Amusement Park opens later this month, folks will notice a few of their favorite attractions are getting a face lift. They need not look any further than the park's entrance, for a sign of that change.

This pile of dirt will be transformed into an 18-hole miniature golf course filled with caves, cannons, and coves. Pirates Cove Adventure Golf will lease land from the park. The revenue from a lease agreement with Pirates Cove Adventure Golf will pave the way for other improvements.

Scott Pyle, Arnolds Park Amusement Park says, "We're excited. It's going to be a great benefit to the park."

Like the purchase of a new fleet of race cars for the speedway. Pyle says, "The hood will come down on top of you and you're just like, just like you're driving a real stock car."

Pyle says changes like this wouldn't have been possible a few years ago, when the park was deep in debt. While the group is now focused on a brighter future, they haven't completely forgotten their past. Through all the park's ups and downs, one ride has remained a favorite with guests young and old.

Jeanne Sieh, Arnolds Park, IA says, "We're going to be celebrating the Legend Roller Coaster."

With fun-filled summer planned, the folks here in Arnolds Park hope you won't want to leave.

The Park opens to the public May 19th, but you can get a sneak peak Saturday, if you're willing to volunteer a little elbow grease. Officials are asking for help putting the finishing touches on the park and give it that last bit of sparkle in needs for the season.
