Gilroy Gardens Family Theme Park, (formerly Bonfante Gardens) a non-profit organization and California's only horticultural theme park, announced today the park is now open for the 2007 season. To celebrate, Gilroy Gardens has blossomed into spring with an all-new SPRING FLING event. Gilroy Gardens began daily operation on March 31 and will end November 18, 2007.

Guests who visit the park from March 31 to April 15 will enjoy SPRING FLING from 10:00 pm to 6:00 pm, Saturday and Sunday, and from 11:00 pm to 5:00 pm Monday through Friday. SPRING FLING is FREE with the price of admission and guests are treated to a spectacular display of spring flowers throughout the entry, a children's scavenger hunt, and an opportunity to meet our NEW character "Gil". Gil walks throughout the day in Sugar Plum Plaza and will be available for family photos to create a great Gilroy Gardens memory.

The Spring Fling Scavenger Hunt begins each day at Sugar Plum Plaza where children 12 & under will receive a map to uncover 5 locations throughout the park where they will receive a floral lei, a seed packet to plant their own garden at home, a spring time pinwheel to decorate that garden, an educational poster about trees, and a plush toy!

Gilroy Gardens will be adding spring flowers throughout Dixie Cup Plaza and Sugar Plum Plaza. In addition, hanging floral baskets will be displayed along Sycamore Bridge. Event banners will be in place on light poles from the front gate to Sugar Plum Plaza, and guests will be invited to enjoy the Spring Fling Garden Sale. Hales Mercantile will be the sight of a "sidewalk sale". On sale will be a variety of garden accents, supplies, and flowers.
