Oklahoma's only theme park kicks off a season full of thrill rides and music when Frontier City throws open its gates at 10:30 a.m. Saturday.

Fun seekers can get vertical as they erupt more than 240 feet in the air on the “Eruption.” Families can soar over the frontier on Oklahoma's only suspended coaster, “The Steel Lasso,” and enjoy live entertainment including “It's Magic” and “The Wild West Gunfight Stunt Show.”

Recording artists will perform live at Frontier City's Starlight Amphitheater, including Red with Addison Road and KJ52 on April 24, KC & the Sunshine Band on June 4 and Rick Springfield on June 11. All shows are free with park admission.

The 2011 season marks the beginning of new management for the park under the leadership of Gary Story and Kieran Burke of Premier Attractions Management. Many theming and structural improvements have been made throughout the park including a shade structure over Thunderbird Plaza and a petting zoo in “Timber Town” children's area.

Frontier City is at 11501 N Interstate 35 Service Road.

Season passes to Frontier City and White Water Bay are available online for $65.99, giving area residents unlimited visits to both parks. For more information, go to frontiercity.com or call 478-2140.
