Kings Island's New Dinosaur Park To Be World's Largest

The newest attraction at Kings Island will be a dinosaur walk featuring dozens of life-size replicas."Dinosaurs Alive!" will be the largest animatronic dinosaur park in the world, the amusement park said Friday.The attraction will have 60 dinosaurs in all. All but four will move, the park said. Guests will also be able to control the movements of four of the dinosaurs with an interactive console, the park said.The park said there will be six main scenes and nine thematic exhibits along the more than 4,000-foot long path spread over 12.5 acres.

The highlight of the attraction will be what the park calls the world's largest animatronic dinosaur, the Ruyang Yellow River dinosaur, which measures 72 feet long, 12 feet wide and 30 feet high.The new park will be open daily beginning May 26 from 10 a.m. until dusk. Kings Island said the dinosaur park is not included with general park admission or a 2011 season pass. A separate admission ticket of $5 is required.Kings Island is scheduled to open its season on April 30. Already announced for 2011 is the new WindSeeker ride, which will spin people 300 feet above the ground at speeds reaching 30 mph.
