With an April 2 opening, spring cleaning comes early to Carowinds theme park that straddles the N.C./ S.C. state line. Crews are painting rides and adding improvements for the park's 39th season.

Getting a new color this year is the Vortex roller coaster, which goes from red to white.  The children's area of the park is getting a new attraction, Snoopy's Starlight Spectacular, a dramatic light show starring everyone's favorite beagle and his friends.

Work is underway in the Planet Snoopy area at Carowinds Thursday as the park prepares for it's spring opening. The area will feature a light show called Snoopy's Starlight Spectacular.

Job Fair Saturday

Carowinds will hold a Job Fair from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at the Carowinds Employment Office. The park plans to hire more than 2,100 seasonal workers. An online application at jobs4fun.com must be filled out in advance.

Interviews will be conducted on a first-come, first-served basis.
