Universal Orlando reported a huge increase in attendance after Harry Potter took up residence at the resort.

Attendance at the Orlando theme parks grew 20 percent in 2010, the company announced on Monday.

The Wizarding World of Harry Potter opened at Universal's Islands of Adventure Theme Park in June. Resort officials said they've seen a significant increases in attendance since the opening.

In the last three months of the year, Universal's attendance skyrocketed 46 percent, the company said Monday.

Universal said last month that attendance for the entire year was the best in six years.

The record year marked a strong comeback for the resort. Universal reported that attendance had fallen by nearly 20 percent in the first quarter of 2009.
