In honor of Cedar Point's Math and Science Week, the amusement park and K'NEX have teamed up to create the Great Thrill Ride Build-Off.

Sixth- to 12th-grade classrooms across the country are being encouraged to build an amusement park ride using only K'NEX pieces for a chance to win great prizes.

Building the ride only is part of the challenge. Classrooms are asked to explain the scientific and mathematical reasons behind how their ride operates.

Five winning classrooms will receive 15 tickets to Cedar Point and building sets provided by K'NEX. The classrooms' winning models will be displayed inside the park at Cedar Point during Math and Science Week, May 16-20.

The contest will run through April 3.
