New 'Star Wars' attraction to land at Disney theme park

The opening of the newly updated "Star Wars' Star Tours: The Adventures Continue" attraction is scheduled to launch on May 20 at Walt Disney World's Hollywood Studios themepark, it was announced January 20, according to /Film.

Star Tours 2.0 will feature a 3D ride through 54 different experiences, with features like holographic communications with passengers.

This new attraction occurs between Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith (2005) and Star Wars: Episode IV - A New Hope(1977). Locations and characters are featured from both the original trilogy of films (Chewbacca, R2-D2, Bith, Rodians) and the prequels (Naboo citizens and Geonosians).

C-3PO will be the pilot of the new ride, and two new characters will be introduced, including Ace, a new pilot, and Aly San San, the spokesdroid, voiced by Allison Janney (The West Wing,Juno, Hairspray).
Composer Michael Giacchino (Lost, Up, Star Trek) will score the ride.

The new attraction will travel to Coruscant and other destinations in the Star Wars galaxy including Bespin, Endor and Alderaan.
