Kings Island's new ride could look familiar to Northeast Ohio roller-coaster enthusiasts.

The park said Monday that the Firehawk, a steel coaster that will take riders 115 feet into the air and travel at more than 50 mph, will debut Memorial Day weekend.

The 3,340-foot-long ride formerly was at Geauga Lake amusement park in Aurora, where it was known as X-Flight. It was taken apart, moved and repainted from neon green to red and yellow. Both parks are owned by Sandusky-based Cedar Fair Entertainment Co.
