December 20, 2006 Once a hub for dancing teens, The Attic is reduced to rubble as demolition of The Myrtle Beach Pavilion Amusement Park continues.
With the rumble of engines, heavy trucks are tearing into the arch-topped building that has stood in Myrtle Beach since Harry Truman was president.
During its final years, the Pavilion building housed the dance club known as The Attic and an arcade.
The oceanfront building dates back to 1948 and was considered a signature of the historic development. It survived Hurricanes Hazel and Hugo, but couldn't withstand the economic pressure to redevelop.
