December 14, 2006 A design flaw in the Son of Beast's wooden support beams meant the Kings Island roller coaster was not meant to bear the ride's weight, causing a dip in the track that jolted and injured passengers in July, state investigators said Wednesday.
The amusement park plans to re-open the ride in 2007, but will make a big change - it will remove the coaster's signature loop.
