June 29, 2006 The thrills will continue at Six Flags Darien Lake. Corporate executives with Six Flags told news 10nbc the theme park in Genesee County will not close.
It currently employs 90 people full time and 2,500 in the summer months.
Reports Friday said financial problems could force Six Flags to sell or even close six of its 30 properties across the country.
The company sites lower park attendance and rising costs for the problems.
Six Flags president said the attendance drop was expected because the company is no longer deeply discounting season passes. It has been targeting families as consumers, rather than teenagers.
