June 05, 2006 Six Flags New Orleans, severely flooded in Hurricane Katrina's aftermath, won't reopen this year, according to company officials. It's unclear when the property, ranked in recent years among the chain's lowest-attended parks, will be back in business.
"We are waiting on our insurance company to assess the situation," said Wendy Goldberg, executive vice president of communications for Six Flags Inc. in New York. "We're working through unanswered questions."
