May 13, 2006 At 170 feet in the air, you can see pretty far. On a clear day it would even be possible to point out various parts of the Santa Clarita Valley that are miles away.
However, by the time the 32-passenger train of Magic Mountain’s new roller coaster reaches the top of its initial 170-foot ascent, there is no time to take in the scenery.
Designed to position the rider in a “horizontal to earth” flying position — bodies held in place by shoulder harnesses, feet trailing behind — the train pauses for barely a millisecond before plunging 111 feet and on into a series of loops, spins and rolls designed to top any roller coaster experience in the world.
