Elitch Gardens, Denver's longtime amusement park, is lowering some prices this year, right down to the cost of parking.

Elitch's, which opens its 2008 season on April 19, is dropping its daily pass by $10 — from $44.99 last year to $34.99 this year — and daily parking is dropping from $15 last season to $10, park officials announced today.

"We want to continue our tradition of affordable family fun," said the park's general manager, Joe Martinez.

Elitch's also trumpeted a new summer concert series, covered by the price of admission, featuring 10 acts on Saturday nights. Performers will include Billy Ray Cyrus, Drake Bell and the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band.

The park also is opening a new "interactive family ride" called Ghost Blasters. Riders will make their way through a 28,000-square-foot haunted mansion and blast ghosts with light guns. Digital counters will keep track of hits, and players can compete against each other.

Season passes to the park, which has operated in Denver since 1890, will remain the same as they were last year: $59.99 for one and $54.99 per pass if four or more are purchased before June 15.
