Charlotte Observer Original Article »March 18, 2008 MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. -- Amusement parkgoers can soon experience the thrill of "Life in the Fast Lane" on a new roller coaster named after the Eagles' 1976 hit. Hard Rock theme park officials on Monday unveiled its longest roller coaster, a two-minute ride that opens to the public next month. The $400 million theme park in Myrtle Beach becomes fully operational May 9. The Eagles will hold a concert during the grand opening in June. The park's general manager, Dale Kaetzel (Kett-zle), is excited the Eagles are involved in what he called the world's first rock 'n' roll theme park. The Sun News of Myrtle Beach reports that construction workers are continuing to get the 55-acre theme park ready. |
