GULF SHORES, Ala. — Waterville USA on Highway 59 in Gulf Shores has opened its amusement park along with one of its most popular attractions, the Flowrider. Guests can also enjoy the wildly popular House of Bounce along with a variety of their amusement park attractions, including the roller coaster, go-carts, mini golf, and much more.

The Flowrider is the first truly interactive sport/skill ride to emerge in the world of aquatic recreation. Born from the roots of surfing, skateboarding, snowboarding and wakeboarding, the Flowrider generates a thin sheet of rushing water that flows over a soft, stationary form allowing riders to drop in on their own unbroken wave, slide down, carve a turn, cut back and perform various tricks over a safe and soft surface.

Regardless of skill, anyone can experience the rush of riding a wave, without the risks associated with the ocean.

The Waterville USA Water Park is scheduled to open on May 17.

Waterville USA and Meyer Real Estate are joining together to host Family Fun Day to benefit the American Cancer Society Relay For Life on March 16, from noon until 5 p.m.

A Relay for Life cash donation of $10 per person provides access to Waterville USA Amusement Park rides and activities, including mini golf, the roller coaster, go-carts, kiddie rides and other amusements.

The only features not available at this special price are the Flowrider, arcade games and the Waterpark rides.

Food vouchers are available for a $5 cash donation to Relay for Life.
