Joyland Amusement Park Adds New Ride for 2008

This weekend, Joyland Amusement Park opens for the 2008 season, and announces a big surprise for the South Plains.

Joyland is very excited to announce they will begin construction of a brand new Super Shot Tower Drop ride that will tower over the park at a height of 140 feet. Riders will accelerate from the 140 foot height towards the ground at speeds of 50 miles per hour, insuring a thrilling experience for all. 

Opening weekend also marks the beginning of the naming contest for this new tower drop ride. To enter the contest, anyone can log on to Joyland's website, and get all the details.

The park will open Saturday at 2:00 p.m.
