Myrtle Beach, S.C. — Family Kingdom Amusement Park in Myrtle Beach,
S.C., has been announced as a finalist in the Impeccable Customer
Service Awards (I.C.E.) being held Feb. 21, 2008 at 6:00 p.m. at the
House of Blues in North Myrtle Beach. Family Kingdom is in the
Amusement/Entertainment category.
The awards honor individuals who have excelled in customer service and businesses that have raised the bar of hospitality.
Family
Kingdom was recently voted the best “Family Amusement Venue” in The Sun
News annual poll of its readers. And, online travel Web site “Trip
Advisor” ranks it among the top five amusement parks in the United
States outside of Orlando.
Located on Ocean Boulevard in the
heart of Myrtle Beach, Family Kingdom is the Grand Strand’s only
seaside amusement park. It offers a complete amusement park experience
with over 30 rides and attractions, in addition to midway games, family
entertainment and traditional park temptations such as funnel cakes,
cotton candy and corndogs. Opened in 1966, it is home to the legendary
Swamp Fox wooden roller coaster and the largest Ferris wheel in the
state of South Carolina.
The Family Kingdom Water Park,
located just across Ocean Boulevard from the amusement park, features
three serpentine water flumes each with a drop of greater than a 100
feet, two speed slides and two intermediate slides, all with a stunning
view of the Atlantic Ocean. A Lazy River measuring more than 400 feet
meanders around splash pools and beside a waterfall. Splash pools
feature two rain trees, a multi-tiered waterfall and eight kiddie
slides.
