Almost overlooked amid the hoopla surrounding the debut of the Disney Dream cruise ship and new details of its Fantasyland expansion, Walt Disney World confirmed last week that Star Tours, the popular Disney's Hollywood Studios simulator ride, will reopen May 20.

That will be just in time for the theme park's annual Star Wars Weekends, which are held in late May and early June.

The revamped attraction will feature a new film shot by filmmaker George Lucas' studio and new 3D effects. It is Disney World's marquee addition for this year, as elements of the expanded Fantasyland in the Magic Kingdom won't begin opening until late 2012.
